2/27/2013 - KENTUCKY AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, LOUISVLLE, Ky. -- Airmen assigned to the 123rd Airlift Wing Public Affairs Office have won four first-place awards in the 2012 National Guard Bureau Media Contest, officials announced Feb. 14.

The highly competitive event, which recognizes the best work of public affairs professionals across the National Guard, receives hundreds of entries from the 54 U.S. states and territories every year.

Master Sgt. Phil Speck, the wing's public affairs manager, won first place in the sports story and news photo competitions, while Maj. Dale Greer, the wing's chief of public affairs, won first place in the feature photo and picture story contests.

The new honors reflect a continued tradition of Public Affairs achievement at the 123rd Airlift Wing, which has earned more than 75 national awards of excellence from the National Guard Bureau, U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense since 1995.
