Ky. Air Guard returns from D-Day mission in France
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --
Two C-130 Hercules aircraft and more than 30 Airmen from the Kentucky Air Guard’s 123rd Airlift Wing arrive at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Ky., today after participating in a week-long event in France for the 75th anniversary of D-Day. The D-Day invasion, formally known as Operation Overlord, turned the tide of World War II in the European theater.
