Hundreds of thousands of people lined the banks of the Ohio River in downtown Louisville on Saturday for this year’s Thunder Over Louisville air show. The Kentucky Air National Guard once again served as the base of operations for more than two dozen military aircraft flying in the annual event, which has grown to become one of the largest single-day air shows in North America.

Highlights included aerobatics from a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet Tactical Demonstration Team, a simulated cargo air-drop from a Kentucky Air National Guard C-130 Hercules aircraft, and a team of Kentucky Air Guard Special Operators who parachuted from a U.S. Air Force C-130J into the Ohio River.

Other performers included the U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team, a U.S. Air Force B-52 Stratofortress, F-16 Falcons from the Ohio Air Guard and a variety of aircraft from the Royal Canadian Air Force.
