Kentucky Air Guard establishes airlift hub in Missouri for earthquake exercise
The 123rd Contingency Response Element’s command center for National Level Exercise 2011 is Located on the edge of the flight line at Springfield-Branson National Airport in Springfield, Mo. The CRE can land at a non-functional airport, secure a perimeter around the airfield, and set up a command center in which they can start directing other aircraft to land. National Level Exercise 2011 is based on a scenario involving a massive earthquake along the New Madrid fault line, requiring extensive aeromedical evacuation of injured patients.
