Kentucky's adjutant general presents posthumous Prisoner of War Medal to family of Air Guard pilot
The sons and daughter of a late Kentucky Air National Guard pilot display the Prisoner of War Medal presented to them on behalf of their father, Capt. Merlin R. "Bob" Kehrer, following a ceremony at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base in Louisville, Ky., on April 16, 2011. Captain Kehrer was a young lieutenant and P-51 pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps when his plane was shot down over enemy territory during World War II.
