Army Brig. Gen. Benjamin F. Adams III (retired), former assistant adjutant general for Army and chairman of the Kentucky National Guard Memorial Fund Inc. reads the names of 13 fallen Soldiers who were added to the memorial this year during a ceremony at Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort, Ky., May 30, 2022. Of the 13 names being added, 11 were killed during World War I, one in 1935 during weekend training, and another in 2001 just prior to 9/11. The monument now honors 286 Soldiers and Airmen from the Kentucky Guard who have paid the ultimate price for freedom since 1912. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Dale Greer)
