Airmen from the Kentucky Air National Guard’s 123rd Airlift Wing load cargo onto a Kentucky C-130J Super Hercules aircraft prior to departure from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, on April 24, 2024. The air transportation specialists, all from the wing’s 123rd Logistics Readiness Squadron, also palletized the cargo, which consists of building materials being shipped to Alaska’s North Slope. The items will be used to build homes for civilians as part of Innovative Readiness Training, a Defense Department program that provides service members with real-world deployment experience while offering lasting benefits to civilian populations.
